OYF Program Overview:

*New - Flag Football - (K - 2)

New to OYF for fall of 2026!

Come join our in-house, co-ed flag football program for players in K-2nd grade.

Registration: Now Open!

Cost: $75

Season Dates: 09/13/26 – 10/04/26

Location: Osseo Grass Practice Fields

Players will receive a jersey with registration. Mouthguard and cleats optional.

*No experience needed, great opportunity for young orioles that are interested in football!

Tackle Football Information

Osseo Youth Football grades 3-8 participate in the Gopher State Football League with MYAS. Games are played in both Osseo and other GSFL member communities. There is a separate registration through MYAS, at no additional cost, for league play.

3rd Grade

3rd grade will play 11-man tackle football against other teams from the Gopher State Football League. If needed teams will be formed by Equidraft. Teams will practice 2-4 times per week. Teams can have 1 or 2 games played per week. Games may be any day of the week.

4th Grade

4th grade will play 11-man tackle football against other teams from the Gopher State Football League. If needed teams will be formed by Equidraft. Teams will practice 3-4 times per week. Teams can have 1 or 2 games played per week. Games may be any day of the week.

5th Grade

5th grade will play 11-man tackle football against other teams from the Gopher State Football League. If needed teams will be formed by Equidraft. Teams will practice 3-4 times per week. Teams can have 1 or 2 games played per week. Games may be any day of the week.

6th Grade

6th grade will play 11-man tackle football against other teams from the Gopher State Football League. If needed teams will be formed by Equidraft. Teams will practice 3-4 times per week. Teams can have 1 or 2 games played per week. Games may be any day of the week.

7th Grade

7th grade will play 11-man tackle football against other teams from the Gopher State Football League. If needed teams will be formed by Equidraft. Teams will practice 3-4 times per week. Teams can have 1 or 2 games played per week. Games may be any day of the week.

8th Grade

8th grade will play 11-man tackle football against other teams from the Gopher State Football League. If needed teams will be formed by Equidraft. Teams will practice 3-4 times per week. Teams can have 1 or 2 games played per week. Games may be any day of the week.

Tackle Football Schedule

Tackle Football starts in early August, reference the OYF Camps/Clinics page for more information/ Your coaches will set the practice schedule and will inform you after team formation and Fall camp. OYF does not set the game schedule or field locations, as we partner with a local youth football league for grades 3-8. Game schedule details will be shared once available – typically later in August.

2026 DIBS Requirements

2026 DIBS Requirements:

1 DIBS opportunity per tackle football family.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old
$200.00 buyout per family – if you choose this option, you will not be required to complete a DIBS opportunity.
A $200.00 deposit check will be collected at weigh-ins for every family, unless the family buys out of DIBS.
A DIBS deposit check must be received prior to your player beginning the season.
The deposit checks will be destroyed upon completion of DIBS requirements.
If DIBS requirements are not fulfilled, checks will be cashed after December 1st, 2026.

DIBS Exemptions:

Head coaches, assistant coaches and committee members are exempt from the DIBS requirements. These need to be determined prior to the season beginning.

Examples of DIBS Opportunities:

Concession stands at the Varsity High School football games.
Working chains during the OYF home games.
Set up and take down of the field during home games.
Helping with weight in.
Osseo/Brooklyn Park Parade

There will be more than enough opportunities for everyone to volunteer!

- Padded Girdle – 7/8th grade players only
Equipment Provided:
- Game Pants
- Game Jersey
Optional Equipment:
- Practice Pants
- Practice Jersey

Where to Purchase Football Equipment:

Dave’s Sport Shop has packages on football equipment and provides a discount for OYF players. All equipment needed will be available for purchase during our weigh in event this summer.

Players can also purchase equipment from anywhere they prefer.

Player Weigh-In: To Be Determined

All tackle players must complete a weigh-in before the season begins. Two weigh-in sessions will be scheduled to accommodate family availability. Please check back in May for confirmed dates.

2026 tackle football registration info and dates

The 2026 Tackle Football season will begin August 3rd and run into October.

1.) Early Bird Registration Opens: Currently open and runs through June 1st, 2026

Early Bird Registration Cost: $210 (3rd -6th Grade), $250 (7th-8th Grade)

Discounted registration will end June 1st, Catch the early bird while you can!

2.) Regular Registration Opens: June 2nd and runs through July 15th.

Registration Cost: $230 (3rd -6th Grade), $270 (7th-8th Grade)

3.) Late Registration Opens: July 16th, 2026

Final Registration Closes: August 2nd, 2026

Late Registration Cost: $250 (3rd -6th Grade), $290 (7th-8th Grade)

Sibling Discount:

OYF offers discounted registration for families with more than one child playing.

First sibling (oldest): full price
Additional siblings: 20% off the registration fee for the next two siblings.

*New – DIBS PROGRAM FOR THE 2026 TACKLE SEASON

Osseo Youth Football is a 100% volunteer supported, non-profit organization that relies on our member families to carry out the various tasks and duties that are required to execute a successful season each year. To accomplish this, we ask that each family in our organization commits to a total of one volunteer shift, regardless of how many athletes are in the program.

DIBS Opportunities for the 2026 season will be available through December 1st, 2026.

There will be DIBS volunteer opportunities available throughout the season, so please plan accordingly. Details are listed above under 2026 DIBS Requirements. Sign-ups coming soon.
